Learning to love learning
The primary objective of our preschool program is to cultivate harmonious coexistence among children. Right from the outset, we prioritize the development of essential social and behavioral competencies that facilitate seamless transitions from parallel play to interpersonal engagements, and ultimately, group interactions. These competencies, imparted with patience and compassion, encompass adherence to rules, maintaining focus during activities, completing tasks, organizing personal space and materials, and mastering the art of waiting one’s turn.
Our instructional approach exclusively employs French, irrespective of the children’s initial exposure to the language, recognizing their exceptional capacity for language absorption at this developmental stage. From the inaugural day of classes, students are fully immersed in French, aided by educators who employ a blend of visual and verbal cues to facilitate natural comprehension and eventual fluency in the language. This immersive environment is particularly beneficial for children encountering French solely within our school community, as they leverage group interactions to interpret instructions through peer responses.
During these crucial formative years, the malleability of young minds significantly enhances their ability to assimilate multiple languages. Successful language acquisition hinges on three foundational principles: compartmentalization, consistency, and immersion. By associating the second or third language with specific individuals or settings, such as familial figures or educational environments, children markedly reduce the likelihood of linguistic confusion.
