This Privacy Notice for California Residents supplements the information provided in our Website Privacy and Cookie Notice. It is specifically intended for visitors to our Sites, students, parents of our schools, employees, and other individuals residing in California (“Consumers” or “you”). This notice aims to outline our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and sale of Personal Information, as well as your rights related to this information. This notice is adopted to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (the “CCPA”), and any terms defined in the CCPA will have the same meaning when used in this notice.

Koala-nc LLC. and its subsidiaries (“Koala-nc,” “we,” or “us”) collect Personal Information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can be linked to an individual or household. This section does not limit our ability to use or disclose information as described in our Privacy and Cookie Notice or other documents provided to you, such as a Parent/Student Handbook (e.g., transcripts, record requests) or an Employee Handbook (e.g., employment verifications, benefits elections).
a. Categories of Personal Information Collected
In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of Personal Information:
– Identification Information: Name, mailing address, email address, phone number, a copy of your government-issued identification, and your account information and password.
– Sensitive Information: Driver’s license number, insurance policy number, education and employment information, financial information, medical or health insurance information, age, race, ethnicity, disability status, gender, or veteran or military status.
– Commercial Information: Details about products or services purchased, used, or considered.
– Internet Activity Information: Traffic Data and other information automatically collected during your use of the Site.
– Geolocation Information: Physical location data collected when you use the Site.
– Professional/Employment Information: Current or past job history.
– Education Information: Education records directly related to a student maintained by an educational institution or its representatives, including grades, transcripts, class lists, schedules, identification codes, financial information, or disciplinary records.
b. Sources of Personal Information
We collect Personal Information from the following sources:
– Directly from You: Communications with us, registering for parent portals, enrolling your child, completing forms, or submitting inquiries.
– Indirectly from You: Traffic Data collected automatically from your use of the Site or Education Information from activities related to school enrollment and attendance.
– Third Parties: Partners providing targeted online advertisements based on Traffic Data, or educational and applicant/employee service providers using Personal Information on our behalf and solely for contracted business purposes.
c. Purpose of Personal Information Collection and Disclosure
We may use or disclose your Personal Information for the following purposes:
– To provide and communicate our services, ensure safe and appropriate care for your child, and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
– For marketing efforts, including sending communications about our services, responding to inquiries, and providing promotional messages, surveys, and information of interest.
– To maintain a safe educational environment by detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and security incidents, conducting risk assessments, and enforcing policies.
– To evaluate job applications and related activities (e.g., time cards for payroll).
– To improve the security and functionality of the Site by processing automatically collected Personal Information to enhance user experience and site performance.
– For other legally permitted purposes, such as notifying you of changes to the Site, protecting our rights, complying with legal obligations, or fulfilling other purposes with your consent.

In the past 12 months, we have disclosed the categories of Personal Information listed above for various business purposes to service providers, vendors, parent entities, affiliates, subsidiaries, medical providers, and government agencies.
We do not sell your Personal Information or share it with third parties for monetary compensation. However, certain sharing, particularly of Commercial Information, Internet Activity Information, and Geolocation Information with advertising partners and social media platforms, may be considered a “sale” under the CCPA. We do not knowingly “sell” the Personal Information of consumers under the age of 16.
2. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
Under California law, and subject to exceptions, you may have the following rights regarding your Personal Information:
